December 2017 saw Burnley in the Champions League places for a few days. A year on and they are one from bottom in the Premier League and facing a long relegation battle. They have only won two league games this season and both of those came in the space of eight days at the end of September. They lost 2-0 at Crystal Palace at the weekend with their opponents missing plenty more chances. Burnley only conceded 39 league goals last season, so far this term it's 29 with 24 games to go. Five of their last six league games have been lost and only one of their last nine home league games have been won.

Liverpool remain unbeaten in the Premier League after their 1-0 home win overwith Everton on Sunday. That left them second in the table and only two points behind leaders Manchester City. This is the kind of game they can't afford to drop points in and thankfully their away form in the domestic league is better than in the Champions League. They are undefeated in their last seven away league games and only conceded four on their travels. Liverpool can be backed to get the three points from this game with it looking unlikely that the home side will be able to cope with their attacking players.
