Burnley vs Everton Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Gameweek 17 in the Premier League will see a crucial bottom-of-the-table battle unfold, with Burnley taking on Everton on Saturday evening. This match will be played at Turf Moor, and the hosts will come into it in 19th place while the visitors are two spots above them. Vincent Kompany’s side are in a bad way at the moment. They have managed just eight points in 16 league games and are already five points from safety before the midway point of the season. The Clarets held on to a 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion in their last outing, which marked just the second match in which they have earned points in their last nine. The other was a 5-0 win over bottom club Sheffield United at the start of the month. Burnley have lacked an attacking spark since their South African forward Lyle Foster took a month-long break to focus on his mental health. However, there have been reports that the Bafana Bafana man’s return is imminent. Still, the hosts have only won one home game this season and will not find it easy against an improving Everton side. 

Meanwhile, Everton are going about their business as if they have a chip on their shoulders since being docked 10 points last month. The Toffees took down Chelsea 2-0 last weekend, marking their third consecutive league win since Manchester United beat them following the international break. Perhaps the most impressive part of Sean Dyche’s side over recent weeks is that they have maintained three consecutive clean sheets, which included an against-the-odds 3-0 win over Newcastle United a fortnight ago. As it stands, had the Toffees not received that 10-point deduction, they would have been on 23 points, which would have put them in the top half of the table. The visitors have also been very good on the road of late. They have taken 12 from a possible 15 points in their last five outings and have only been beaten by Liverpool and Aston Villa in away games this season. Unsurprisingly, they are the favourites heading into this one.
