Burnley finished seventh in the Premier League last season but are having a nightmare at present. They failed to make it to the group stages of the Europa League and are bottom of the Premier League with only one point from their first five games. That point came in the first game of the season with a 0-0 draw at Southampton and has been followed by four straight league defeats. 12 league and cup games this season have seen them fail to win over 90 minutes. However, their problems have been around for a while as the last five league games in the 2017/18 season saw them earn just a single point. The Europa League excuse for poor performances is over now and last weekend they lost 1-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Burnley have failed to win any of their last five home league games and haven't scored in their last two matches. Three games against Bournemouth, Cardiff and Huddersfield have to produce some points as they then take on Chelsea and Manchester City.

The visitors have made a great start to their Premier League season and start the weekend in fifth place with ten points from their first five games of the season. They have only lost one of their last eight league and cup games and that was away at Chelsea who have made a 100% start to the season. Bournemouth won away at Burnley right at the end of last season but have only won three of their last 15 away league games. At present though they are firing on all cylinders and beat Leicester City 4-2 at home last weekend. They have had one away league win this season getting a 2-1 win at West Ham and they can beat another team wearing claret with an away win in this match.
