Burkina Faso vs Burundi Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON

The 2025 AFCON qualification process returns and Burundi will make the trip to west Africa to take on Burkina Faso in Group L. Without an approved venue, the Stallions will host the Swallows in Cote d’Ivoire, in Abidjan. Read on for our prediction of this match.  

Burkina Faso will seek to rise past the challenge of not playing in front of their home fans. By now they should be used to it, and they have a good run whenever playing as hosts.  

In the last 10 matches they ‘hosted’, Burkina Faso suffered just one loss. It will also work in their favor that in their only two previous matches against Burundi, they won.  

The hosts’ last action ended in a 3-1 win against Malawi, the third of their unbeaten outings. 

Burundi will arrive for this game placed third in Group L with three points gained from the Match Day 1 win against Malawi. 

They couldn’t, however, build on that 3-2 win, and were 1-0 losers at home to Senegal in the most recent match. That marked Burundi’s first defeat in four matches and the second time in five matches that they failed to score. 

While they seek a return to winning ways, history suggests that will be a long shot for Burundi. In two of the last three AFCON qualification matches, they lost. Away from home, they have three wins only in 20 away matches in AFCON qualification.
