Danish side Brondby’s return to the UEFA Champions League after 16 years out isn’t going too well. They host the return leg of their play-off against Austria’s Salzburg trailing 2-1. Brondby are on nine straight matches without a win and have lost three of their last four. They have just one clean sheet in the last 10 matches, but have failed to score in just one of the 10. On area Brondby have been really poor in is game management; in their last match, they led 2-0 at half time but it ended 2-2 against OB. That’s just one of the three matches in the last five that they’ve led but failed to win. Both sides have scored in four of their last five matches and Brondby have conceded two or more goals in four. Four of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals. The brightest light in Brondby’s recent matches has been Mikal Uhre; the Danish forward has scored four goals in the last five matches.

Salzburg are on a complete opposite pedestal from Brondby; they are unbeaten in nine matches, all of them wins, and they’ve lost just one of their last 19 matches. In their last nine matches, however, they have just three clean sheets, one stat Mikael Uhre will be happy to see. On the flipside, Salzburg have scored two or more goals in six of the last nine matches and three of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals. Away from home, they are on a good run too, with seven straight away wins, though with two clean sheets only. Last season, they advanced to the group stages and were drawn in a tough pool that had champions Bayern Munich and Spanish giants Atletico Madrid. Salzburg went on to finish a distant third in the group.
