Both of these clubs had dreams of winning promotion to the Premier League last season. Bristol City made a slow start then went on a great run that took them into the top six. Their hopes of reaching the play-offs were dashed with a run of just six points from their last six league games. The summer has seen them lose defender Lloyd Kelly to Bournemouth for £13m and they will miss him this season. City have made some new signings but nothing that spectacular. The best new recruit is Jay Dasilva from Chelsea, not really a new signing as he was on loan with them last season. Home form has seen them without a win in their last four games with a 5-0 loss to Crystal Palace in their final warm-up game. That's eight goals conceded in their last two friendlies.

Leeds United continue their battle to return to the Premier League. It looked as if they were going to achieve it last season but again they found a way to mess it up. They were in the top two for most of the season and spent several weeks at the top. Their form slumped right at the wrong time with one point from their last four matches to finish third in the Championship. Then they took on Derby in the play-offs, winning the away leg and then losing the home second leg. Pre-season has gone ok aside from a 4-0 loss to Manchester United. They haven't been too busy in the transfer window but have lost Pontus Jansson to Brentford. Jack Clarke was transferred to Tottenham but is back at Elland Road for a season's loan. Leeds will want to get their season off to a good start and a double chance bet on them to win or draw this game is the suggested bet.
