Two sides at opposite ends of the A-League will face off on Sunday, when Brisbane Roar play host to Auckland FC at Suncorp Stadium. The Roar are in 12th place, while the Black Knights lead the league standings after 20 games. Let’s get into the match prediction.

Brisbane Roar have endured their worst-ever season in the A-League to this point, having only managed a meagre 11 points from 19 games, with a record of two wins, five draws and 12 defeats. 

However, after only taking five points from their first 14 games of the campaign, the Roar have experienced an upturn in results lately, earning six points in their last five games (W1 D3 L1). 

Still, it’s hard to make much of a case for the hosts this week, as they have not won a single game at Suncorp Stadium this season and lost 2-0 to this opponent in the reverse fixture. 

Meanwhile, Auckland are well on track to make history this term by winning the league title in their first-ever season in the Australian top flight. 

The Black Knights have been incredible this season, currently four points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand. They are also unbeaten in their last nine league games with five wins and four draws. 

On the road, the visitors have played nine games and suffered just one defeat, while winning five and drawing three. They also scored two or more goals in five away matches to date.
