After their midweek European disappointment, Brighton will be at home to welcome Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. Fifteen points separate the two after 27 rounds of play, with Brighton placed ninth and Forest in 17th. Brighton suffered a demoralizing 4-0 defeat in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie against AS Roma. With the second leg coming up next week, they will be keen to go into that match off the back of a win. The loss in Italy stretched Brighton’s run without a win to four games with the last three ending in defeat. Roberto De Zerbi’s men, who were dumped out of the FA Cup two weeks ago, were hammered 3-0 by Fulham last weekend. The loss saw them drop five points from the European places. The Seagulls have amassed 39 points so far. They defeated Forest 3-2 in the reverse match back in November.

Forest are also going through a slump and their recent struggles are threatening their chances of avoiding relegation. Nuno Espirto Santo’s men have managed just one win in their last five matches and have lost three in a row. One of those defeats saw them eliminated from the FA Cup in the fifth round. Forest, who haven’t scored in their last two games, suffered an excruciating 1-0 loss at home last time out against Liverpool. On course to earning a point against the league leaders, the Reds were undone with virtually the last play of the match. They conceded in the ninth minute of added time. Forest, who have now lost 15 times, sit just four points above the relegation zone having amassed 24 points.
