Norwich City will hope to boost their survival hopes with a win at Brighton when the Premier League resumes after the international break. Going into this game they are bottom of the standings with 17 points while Brighton have 33 points, in 13th place. Brighton’s bright start to the season is a distant memory now; six straight losses in the league have exposed them as lower half strugglers. They’ve actually managed just one win in their last 11 matches across all competitions. In the last six league matches, they’ve conceded two or more goals in each and have only scored one goal - Lewis Dunk’s strike against Newcastle United. In 10 league matches, they have just one clean sheet and not even playing at home has offered comfort. They have four straight losses at home in the league and failed to score in any of them.

Norwich will not go to this game on a strong foot either; they have seven straight losses and are winless in eight. In their last seven matches, they have conceded two or more goals in each, the most recent a 2-1 loss to Leeds United just before the international break. Each of their last four matches has produced over 2.5 goals but that is also because unlike Brighton, they have some consistency in attack. The visitors have scored in each of their last four matches, and in 10 games, they’ve only failed to score in two. In the league, they’ve however lost six straight just like Brighton, and failed to score in three of the last 10 league matches. Their only away win in seven league matches was against Watford, which ended 3-0; all the rest were defeats. Being eight points away from safety makes Norwich the side under more pressure here, and the fact that they’ve played more games than 17th placed Everton doesn’t help.
