Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion filled the top two spaces in the Championship last season. It's Newcastle who have gotten off to the better start and are fourth in the table going into this game. That looked very unlikely after they lost their first two league games and then lost to Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. Since then they have won three league games in a row defeating West Ham, Swansea and Stoke, hardly the cream of the crop but Newcastle won't be moaning about that and they have a good chance of a fourth straight win here. Newcastle did the double over Brighton last season on their way to winning the Championship. Brighton start the weekend in 16th place and would be satisfied with that come the end of the season. Their only league win was at home to West Brom, the other home fixture being a 2-0 defeat by Manchester City. They have only scored four goals in the league so far this season but only conceded seven. This looks like being a tight game so go for under 2.5 goals in this match.
