Brighton and Hove Albion look to bounce back from their 3-1 home loss to West Ham United last Saturday. They are sixth in the Premier League and host Newcastle United who are in 13th place. Brighton had won their first two games of the new Premier League season and topped the table. They came back to earth with that home loss to West Ham and again this weekend they play on a Saturday teatime. Newcastle United won their first league game of the season but have lost the next two. It's been a tough fixture list and they'll want to return to the north east wih something from this fixture.c

Brighton - Newcastle: Form Analysis

Brighton and Hove Albion finished sixth in the Premier League last season, two places and nine points behind Newcastle United. Despite selling some of their best players, Brighton got the new season off to an excellent start. Both Luton Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers were beaten 4-1 and those results took them to the top of the Premier League. They didn't stay there for long though and they were beaten 3-1 at home by West Ham United last weekend. They have a tough fixture list ahead of them with opponents in the next few matches including Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester City. plus the start of their first Europa League campaign. We'll soon find out how much the sale of top players have affected their squad. The home loss to West Ham (not a good sign) meant only two of their last five home league games have been won and one of those was over relegated Southampton.

Newcastle United have only three points so far this season. That already puts them six points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City, likely to be nine by the time this game kicks-off. They began the new season with a convincing 5-1 home win over Aston Villa. It's been tough since then though with a 1-0 defeat at Manchester City followed by a 2-1 home loss to Liverpool. They looked destined for a point in that match but Liverpool scored a late winner. Newcastle have only lost three of their last 17 away league games and two of those losses came at the Etihad. Against Brighton last season, they won at home and drew 0-0 away from home. Only one of their last five away league games to Brighton has been lost with the others ending level.
