Brighton vs Manchester United Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Predictions
Brighton & Hove Albion have a big assignment at home in their third match of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign – they welcome Manchester United on Saturday. As United seek their first points in the league, the hosts will be hoping for their second straight league win after the 3-0 thrashing of Newcastle United. Brighton started their season on a low, falling 3-1 to Chelsea, but recovered with a 4-0 win over Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup and then the win over Newcastle. Neil Maupay is once again proving to be a key player for Brighton; against Newcastle, he scored twice and grabbed an assist for the third and the East Sussex side will hope to use him fully in the early kickoff on Saturday. Brighton’s fine run continued in midweek, with a 2-0 win over Preston North End in the Carabao Cup, with key players rested. Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Alexis Mac Allister scored second half goals to settled the clash, handing Brighton their third straight win and playing at home, they will feel confident enough to want to extend the good run. The game against Preston was Brighton’s fourth this season and they have scored in all, though they lost the first. One key factor Brighton will have to deal with going to this game, is their form at home. The team has no win at home in the last five league matches – four losses and a draw, though these matches have come against tough opponents: Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United. The only time they avoided a home loss in the last five matches was against Newcastle United, a game that ended 0-0. They lost 3-0 in their last home game against Manchester United. With one win in the last 10 league matches at home, Brighton will be the underdogs here.
Manchester United recovered from their poor start to the season with a win over Luton Town in the Carabao Cup third round and will be hoping to extend that when they face Brighton. Though on paper it was a comfortable win, United will still have questions over their squad depth after needing good saves from debutant keeper Dean Henderson to keep them in the lead. Two late goals settled the clash after a shaky opening, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having made 10 changes to the team that started against Crystal Palace. United closed last season on a losing note, as they were eliminated from the Europa League by Sevilla, before starting their campaign with a 3-1 loss to Palace and in between they lost to Aston Villa in a preseason friendly game. One area they will be glad with, is that they have managed to score in each of their last 24 matches. The loss to Palace was their first in the Premier League in 15 matches and United will be hoping to return to winning ways. Playing away from home will favor them, as they established a fine away run towards the end of last season, winning each of the last four, all with clean sheets, and are unbeaten in seven straight away league matches. They have beaten Brighton in each of their last three meetings, scoring at least twice in each of the three wins and their last four meetings have each produced over 2.5 goals.

Our Brighton vs Manchester United Prediction
Each of the last four meetings between these sides has produced over 2.5 goals and the teams head here on the back of high scoring matches. United beat Luton Town 3-0 in the Carabao Cup while Brighton scored their eighth and ninth goals in three matches as they beat Preston 2-0. With the confidence drawn from the previous matches, we expect these teams to put up a very attacking game. Brighton have scored in each of their four games so far this season and three of them have produced over 2.5 goals. United have also scored in each of their two matches this season and both have produced over 2.5 goals. Going by this, we expect this match to also produce three or more goals.
