Brighton vs Liverpool Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Predictions
Brighton will look to move closer to survival when they host champions Liverpool in the 34th round of matches in the Premier League on Wednesday. Brighton are currently placed 15th with 36 points, 53 behind Liverpool’s tally of 89 points. Brighton have registered favorable results in their recent matches to greatly aid their push for survival. They head here straight from a win over Norwich City and fighting to hit 43 points, which will guarantee safety if all stays constant, we expect them to give their all here. Brighton beat Arsenal in their first game after the restart, and thereafter drew with Leicester but their rise was dented in a 3-0 loss to Manchester United. The win in their last match presented their second clean sheet but also gave them a boost as they rose farther from the drop zone. Brighton have presented themselves as a compact side after the restart – they haven’t scored many goals and at the same time defend in numbers. Save for the loss to Manchester United, they have shown great purpose in defence and attack. However, with just two wins in their last 11 home matches, they will need more in attack to be able to secure three points from this clash. They have scored in six of their last 10 home matches but kept just one clean sheet while only two of their last nine home matches have produced over 2.5 goals. In their 16 home matches this season in the league, Brighton have won five; none of the last six have produced a clean sheet for the team. They have one win in the last six home matches.
On the other hand, Liverpool returned to winning ways, beating Aston Villa 2-0 in their last match. The new champions had to wait till deep in the second half to win it with goals from Sadio Mane and Curtis Jones. The win saw the Reds recover from the 4-0 loss to Manchester City earlier and was the second win since football returned, having beaten Crystal Palace 4-0 earlier. Liverpool have now kept three clean sheets in four matches after the restart and still hold on to their place as the best defence in the league. For Liverpool, it is quite different on the road; they have no win in their last five away matches, and have not scored in any of the five too. They lost 4-0 to Manchester City in their last away game, having earlier drawn 0-0 with Everton. Liverpool have however beaten Brighton in each of their last seven meetings and in 15 meetings in total, Brighton have managed only one win. With two losses in their last three away matches, the champions will be keen to end the unwanted run and their dominance over Brighton will be a motivating factor.

Our Brighton vs Liverpool Prediction
Liverpool have lacked the potency in attack they had before being declared champions. They fell 4-0 to Manchester City and struggled for long periods in the 2-0 win over relegation threatened Aston Villa. Having already bagged the title, and playing away to Brighton who have all to play for, we don’t expect Liverpool to dominate this clash. They have also had a poor away run in recent times. A low scoring game is on the cards here, looking at Brighton’s home performances too. A draw will be a good pick for this game.
