Brighton vs Leicester Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Nella Wagah | in Premier League Predictions
A decline in form has Brighton dropping closer to the relegation region after showing much promise earlier. The team has now gone winless in the last five matches, with three losses therein and this is what they’ll want to stop when they welcome Leicester City. Ahead of the game, Brighton are 16th in the standings with 26 points, just three above the relegation region. Meanwhile Leicester City are third with 50 points. Brighton’s recent matches have been low scoring, producing under 2.5 goals in 10 of the last 12, and the team has failed to score completely in three of the last five. They have two straight losses in the Premier League and are winless in the last four. The big concern for Brighton as they seek to move farther from the drop zone, will be their home form. The team has just one win in the 13 home league matches they’ve played this season. Out of a possible 39 points at home in the league, Brighton have garnered just 10. In their last home game in the league, they conceded in the final minute and lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace.
Leicester City haven’t had a smooth ride either; they are coming from a 1-1 draw with Burnley, having fought from a goal down. The 2016 champions have no win in their last three matches and have just one in five. Their goals have also been drying up lately. The Foxes have scored more than a goal per game in just one of the last five matches. Their key man in attack, Jamie Vardy has one goal in the last five matches. Injuries to other important players, Harvey Barnes and James Maddison have further depleted the attack. Meanwhile, Jonny Evans’ injury has left them short in defence too but manager Brendan Rodgers will be glad to have Wesley Fofana back. The Frenchman’s return will push Wilfred Ndidi a bit higher and while his primary duties are defensive, he always has a killer pass in him to aid the attack. Both sides have scored in Leicester’s last four league matches. Their biggest strength in the season has come in ability to handle away matches. They’ve won nine of their last 14 away league games and no team has won more away points than Leicester, who have collected 31 from a possible 42. At the moment Leicester are unbeaten in the last nine away league matches, with five wins in there, and have scored two or more goals in five of the nine. They’ve only failed to score in two of the 14 away league matches.
