Brighton - Leeds: Form Analysis
Brighton represent an example of a club being run effectively at the moment. Despite losing their arguably three best players over the course of two transfer windows, they had an impressive season last year, and have started excellently this year as well, beating Manchester United, drawing with Newcastle and beating West Ham at the London Stadium, in what was a near-perfect performance. The Seagulls topped that off with a resounding 3-0 away victory against Forest Green for the League Cup, in what was their third consecutive clean sheets. Brighton have been strong recently at the Amex, being unbeaten in their last five competitive games, in a run that also included three clean sheets. Leeds have been stellar under Jesse March this season . After beating Wolves and drawing against Southampton, they saved their best performance for last week, thrashing Chelsea 3-0 at the Elland Road. With Rodrigo and Aaronson being in excellent form, it looks like the controversial replacement of Marcelo Bielsa is finally paying dividends with Leeds level with Brighton in fourth place. They had League Cup duties too in midweek, easily beating Barnsley 3-1. They don’t have the best of recent records against Brighton however, being winless in their last four meetings and their last eight at the Amex.

Brighton & Leeds Squad Analysis
Brighton’s 3-4-2-1 system offers the best combination of solidity in defence and creative spark, and is the key to Potter’s success as the Seagulls’ coach. The real stars behind this system however are the central midfield duo of MacAlister and Caicedo, who have been stellar this season, yet the latter being increasingly involved in Liverpool’s transfer rumours so there could be more developments at the end of the week. Danny Welbeck might have started upfront in the league games, yet Deniz Undav had a great cup game and scored as well, and could deputise at the spear of the attack. Leeds have found their new star and it is coincidentally someone who has flown under the radar in past seasons. Rodrigo was largely under the shadow of Raphinha, yet the departure of the Brazilian seems to have unlocked his potential, with the ace having scored seven goals in the last four games that he started. Jesse March will have some headaches in his selection however, with the likes of Ayling, Dallas, Firpo being out injured, while the involvement of Patrick Bamford will be decided at the last minute.
