Brighton’s push for survival continues, with a home game against Everton, after the loss to Manchester United in the last game. They hope to bag three points to move them from the current position 16, where they have 32 points. Meanwhile, Everton are still hoping to seal a place in European competitions, and they are currently eighth with 47 points. After a disappointing 2-1 loss to Manchester United, Brighton know they should rise fast, being just four points above the relegation zone. They should have won a penalty in the United game but that’s now water under the bridge and Graham Potter will have to lift his charges up as quickly as possible. One player to watch here will be Danny Welbeck, whose two goals and an assist in the last three matches have fired the belief in the team. The team however, has one clean sheet in five matches and at times have failed to reap fully from scoring in each of the last four matches because of conceding. In the last eight league matches, they’ve managed just two wins and four losses. Potter’s team hasn’t fully utilized home advantage, that’s why they’ve managed just two wins in the league at the AMEX Stadium this season – a 13% winning rate. They’ve won just 11 points from a possible 45 in home games in the league.

Everton hosted Crystal Palace in their last game, and were only four minutes away from a first win after three straight losses but Michy Batshuayi’s goal saw them share spoils in a 1-1 draw. They now remain winless in four matches and have failed to score in two of them. They’ve also fallen short of the high standards they set in attack in the earlier stages of the season and head to this game having scored more than one goal in just two of their last 10 matches in all competitions. The Toffees are however a different outfit when playing away from home. They’ve lost just once in their last 10 away league matches, and won seven times. They have a 64% winning rate on their travels and have garnered 29 out of 42 points from their away league matches.
