After successive losses to Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Hove Albion got back in winning ways with a 2-0 win at Rotherham in midweek. That leaves them in second place in the Championship three points behind Newcastle and six ahead of third placed Huddersfield who have a game in hand but a far inferior goal difference. With Huddersfield facing a tough trip to Brentford, this weekend presents Brighton with the chance to regain the ground they lost in those two defeats. Just two home games have been lost by Brighton and before that loss to Newcastle, they had earned 20 points from their last nine home games. Derby County start the weekend in 10th place, ten points adrift of the final play-off position. They need one heck of a run to get anywhere near the play-offs especially away from home. Five of their last six away league games have ended in defeat and they have lost the last 3 all 1-0 and only scored in one of those six matches. That's not the form to take to Brighton and fans remember how failure to beat them in the last week of the 2016/17 season cost them promotion to the Premier League. Revenge comes this week and the home side can win this match.
