Brighton vs Chelsea Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

The Seagulls welcome Frank Lampard’s Chelsea to the AMEX Stadium after an incredible 2-0 win over Bournemouth at the weekend. They were well worth their win after giving Spurs a scare a few days beforehand. Chelsea meanwhile, won a second London Derby in a week at Arsenal putting aside a disappointing defeat at the hands of Southampton on Boxing Day a couple of days earlier. 

That was Brighton’s first win in five and their sixth victory this season which moved them to 23 points into 14th position five-points ahead of the relegation zone. Chelsea are still 4th four points ahead of Manchester United who are the closest contenders to their Champions League spot. 

Now Brighton face a club they’ve only managed to beat once in their entire existence. Back in January 1933, the Seagulls were 2-1 winners against Chelsea in the FA Cup but in 12 meetings since they’ve drew once and lost the most recent 11 clashes including the reverse fixture back in September 2-0.  

Away from home Chelsea seem to favour much better. Seven of their 11 wins in the Premier League this season have come while playing away from home and only Liverpool have picked up more points on the road in away games with 25 than Chelsea have acquired (21).
