The weekend's fixtures all fell foul of the poor weather in England. Hopefully, the midweek games will take place as ninth placed Brighton and Hove Albion host Manchester United who are fourth in the table. Brighton have 12 points and that has them six points above the bottom spot that would relegate them. That sounds good but the problem is that they have played 14 fixtures and the bottom two both have two games in hand on them and 10th placed Birmingham have three. The home side won their last league game, beating fifth placed Everton 1-0 at home. However, Everton have lost four of their last five away league games, so not the greatest of wins. Before that win, Brighton had lost two in a row to Arsenal and West Ham, conceding six goals. Their home form has seen them win three games, draw two and lose two.

Manchester United are fourth but even though they have two games in hand on third placed Arsenal, there's a current gap of 14 points. United have only lost one of their last four league games, a surprise home loss to bottom-of-the-table Bristol City. They have only played five away league games this season and have only recorded one win. That was a 3-0 win at Tottenham. With Brighton an inconsistent side, a bet on a United win can be a winner.
