Brest vs Lorient Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

Brest play their final Ligue 1 fixture before the winter break. They are fifth in the table and host Lorient who are one from bottom in the table. The Pirates are only behind fourth placed Lille on goal difference so they could go into the winter break in the Chamoions League places. The weekend saw them score twice in the second half to get a 2-0 win away at Nantes. That extended their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to five games with four of them being won. They'd already be in the top four but for going five league games without a win prior to this improved form. At home, Les Ti'Zefs have won three league fixtures, drawn the same number and only lost to leaders PSG. Only two of their last 13 home league matches has ended in defeat.

Lorient's form is nowhere near as impressive. They'll be spending 2024 trying to stay in Ligue 1 and it'll be a tough battle. They are in the relegation zone at present and two points from safety. They lost their second league game in a row at the weekend when being beaten 2-1 at home by Strasbourg. Before that they'd lost again at home, 4-2 to Marseille. The Dark Ones have only earned two points from their last seven league fixtures and last won one in October. On their travels, Lorient have the worst record in Ligue 1 with just three draws in seven games and two from the last six. We go for Brest to get a home win.
