It's a big week for these two sides with this league game being followed by the final of the Belarus Cup final next Sunday. BATE come into this game against the defending champions on top of the league, with their opponents eight in the table. BATE made a poor start to the season losing their first two fixtures. It's all gone right for them since then though and their win over FC Slutsk at the weekend was their sixth in seven league matches. Thyey got off to a great start in that game against Slutsk with a 2-0 lead secured by the 24th minute. That eventual 3-0 home victory was their fourh in a row. A win at Brest will take them four points clear at the top of the table. Goals have been flowing of late with 11 in the last three. Away form started with two league defeats but since theh, they have won three in a row with ten goals scored.
Dinamo Brest are eighth in the league and six points behind their opponents. It's not been an impressive season for them to date with five losses, four in the league and one in the Belarus Cup (though they made it to the final). That's compared to last season when they won the title and only lost one match.The weekend saw them lose again as they went down 2-1 away at Energetik with their goal not being scored until second half injury time. Home form has been a bit shaky with two wins, a draw and a couple of defeats. Their two home wins have come against Isloch (yet to win an away point this season) and Dinamo Minsk 2-1 with the opener being an own goal. BATE are the clear form pick here and can get the away win that would take them nine points clear of Brest.
