Southampton will be hoping to rise from the foot of the Premier League table when they travel to London to take on Brentford in their next league assignment. The Saints have managed just 15 points so far and will be aiming at only their fifth league win of the season when they face eighth placed Brentford who have 30 points. Hosts Brentford will be looking to return to winning ways after a 0-0 draw with Leeds United that slowed their earlier momentum. They’ve scored at least two goals in four of their last five league matches, with Ivan Toney scoring three times in the five games.

Southampton are on a bad run; they suffered yet another loss in their last outing, this time in the League Cup, to Newcastle United. That was their third loss in four matches and it is worse in the Premier League, where they have one win in nine matches. The Saints have lost seven of their last eight league matches and come into this game as outright underdogs. Southampton haven't managed a clean sheet in their last nine league matches and have failed to score in two of the last three. They did beat Everton in their last away match in the league, but here they face a tougher opponent with a good run. Southampton have lost three of their last four away league games.
