Brentford vs Sheffield Wednesday Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Steve Ashfield | in Championship Predictions
Brentford finished in ninth place in the Championship last season missing out on the play-offs by just six points. They have had a good start to the season and start the weekend in sixth place which is the final play-off position. Their season began with a 5-1 thumping of newly promoted Rotherham United and they followed that up with a creditable 1-1 draw at Stoke City. More signs of their good form came in the Carabao Cup with a 4-2 win at Southend United so that's ten goals in three games for the Bees. One of their main tasks this season is to cut down on the number of home league draws. There were 11 last season and a few less would have seen them in the play-offs. Only three teams won at Brentford in the league last season and they have only lost one of their last nine and that was to promoted Cardiff City.
Sheffield Wednesday head to Brentford still looking for their first league win of the season. They start the weekend in 18th place with just one point from their first two league games of the new season. Wednesday kicked off their season with a 3-2 defeat at newly promoted Wigan Athletic and were then held to a 1-1 draw at home by Hull City. At least they got an away win in the Carabao Cup on Thursday winning 2-0 at League One Sunderland. Last season saw them lose nine away league games including a 2-0 loss at Brentford. The home side are in the better form at present and can get the win here.

Our Brentford vs Sheffield Wednesday Prediction
Brentford have made a promising start to the new season and are scoring plenty of goals. Home form was strong last season but they need to cut down on the draws. Sheffield Wednesday have just one point from their two games and lost nine away league matches last term including losing at Brentford 2-0. This looks booked for a home win.
