Brentford vs Reading Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Brentford earned a point at fellow promotion chasers Watford on Tuesday, while Reading lost at home to Norwich the following night. Those results left Brentford in sixth with their opponents Reading, a place and a point above them. Tuesday's game saw Brentford earn a point away at fellow promotion chasers Watford. Both goals came from the penalty spot and the result extended Brentford's unbeaten league run to 12 matches. They last lost in the Championship at Stoke, the week before Halloween. However, of those 12 matches, Brentford have drawn seven and all but one were either 0-0 or 1-1. Brentford have only lost one home league game this season. That was a 4-2 defeat by Preston in early October. A disappointing result to say the least as they led 2-0 after 43 minutes. Since that loss, Brentford have gone seven home fixtures without defeat. That sounds great but the fact is that five of the last six have ended in a draw. All valuable points dropped, especially when against struggling sides such as Derby County. It has been a tough fixture list though and draws were earned against Norwich City and Swansea City. Overall, Brentford have drawn eight league games this season (only Millwall have drawn more in the Championship) with only three of their 19 lost.
Wednesday saw another defeat for Reading as they lost 2-1 at home to Norwich City, who went back on top of the table as a result. Reading had a five point lead at the top earlier in the season but are now fifth and seven points off the top. That was their second home defeat in three home games. On their travels, Reading began this season with three wins and a draw. It’s not been so easy since then though with two points from the next four, before a last gasp 1-0 win at QPR last weekend. There haven't been that many goals in recent Reading away league matches. Just five in the last three Five of the last seven Brentford home league fixtures have seen under 2.5 goals scored in them. A bet on that stat coming up again looks a good one to place. A side-bet on a draw could well be a winner too.
