The win was the fourth in a row for the Magpies who now lead fourth-place Manchester United by way of a vastly superior goal differential. Newcastle have the third-best away record in the Premier League this season with only two losses from their 14 trips. The win over West Ham was the visitors second consecutive away win.

Brentford faced a difficult fixture playing Manchester United away from home on Wednesday. It was always going to be tough to get the three points but manager Thomas Frank can be proud of his team’s relatively solid defensive display against a United team that have been on a roll at Old Trafford this season.
