Brentford vs Crystal Palace Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Brentford will look to continue their positive start in the Premier League when they play host to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are currently in fourth place in the league standings, while the visitors moved down to 11th last week. The Bees got their 2023-24 season started with a very entertaining 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on opening day. They followed that up with a solid 3-0 win over a ten-man Fulham last week. Without the services of Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbuemo and Yoane Wissa have taken on the attacking responsibilities so far. The pair scored in both games, with Mbuemo netting twice against the Cottagers. Brentford finished in ninth place last season with 59 points and missed out on a Conference League qualifier place by just two points. Still, it was a very good campaign considering they only returned to the top flight in 2021-22.  

Having ended last season in the bottom half again, Crystal Palace’s main objective this season will be to break back inside the top ten. They got the season off to a promising start, beating newly promoted Sheffield United 1-0 on the road. While they lost 1-0 to Arsenal last week, Palace were certainly not outplayed. However, their major issue in the early stages of the season seems to be their lack of a genuine goal threat. The Eagles were involved in the relegation scrap for a bit last season but ended the campaign fairly well under Roy Hodgson. Palace were unbeaten in their last three league matches last term and only lost two of their final ten. Still, one feels they will need someone to replace the gap left by Wilfried Zaha to challenge for a top-half finish this season. Notably, each of the last four matches between these sides have ended in a draw.
