Brentford are set to host Crystal Palace in a Round 24 Premier League game, to be played at the former’s Gtech Stadium on Saturday. Brentford are eighth in the standings with 35 points while Palace are four places further down in 12th place with 25 points. Brentford could end the campaign as one of England’s representatives in Europe next season as they sit just five points away from a Europa League place. Thomas Frank’s side is coming from a 1-1 draw with Arsenal albeit in controversial fashion. They’ve been hard to beat this season and lost only four matches which is a record bettered by just two others in the league. Brentford have also been decent in front of goal with 36 goals scored which equates to at least one goal every game. Defensively, they have let in 29 goals which is the third most tally of the teams in the top 10. The West London side goes into Saturday’s match on a four-match unbeaten run which sets them up nicely as they go in search of their first win over Palace in the league.

Crystal Palace are coming into this weekend on a woeful run form, having failed to win in seven straight matches across all competitions. They have lost four of those matches and have not scored more than one goal in a match in that run. Patrick Vieira’s side has not won a match in 2023 in the league and has managed just three points in six matches played in so far in the year. They drew 1-1 with Brighton last time out. With Liverpool, as well as Manchester City, coming up for them in the next three weeks after Brentford, Palace will be keen to pick up points now or else they might find themselves being pulled into a relegation battle.
