Brentford will go into yet another London derby when Premier League action resumes, with a home game against Chelsea. They are the best performing among the promoted teams and will hope to take advantage of Chelsea’s shaky run lately. Going into the game, seventh placed Brentford, on 12 points, are four points and six places below league leaders Chelsea. Brentford have already beaten Arsenal, and more recently West Ham United, while drawing with Crystal Palace in the earlier derbies. Yoane Wissa for the third straight game scored a late goal as they beat West Ham 2-1 just before the international break. Brentford have scored two or more goals in the last four matches and three have produced over 2.5 goals. They were impressive in the 3-3 draw with Liverpool, having earlier beaten Arsenal and there’s no doubt that they have settled in the topflight. However, in the last two home matches after beating Arsenal, they are winless.

Chelsea are still top of the standings but they’ve struggled a bit in recent matches. In the last game before the international break, they beat Southampton 3-1 but the final two goals came after the Saints had been reduced to 10 men. In their last four matches, they have lacked their usual stability; keeping no clean sheet, and failing to score in two. It may be tough for them going to this game as Romelu Lukaku is a doubt after getting injured on international duty, adding to the doubtful Reece James and Cristian Pulisic. Still Chelsea should have enough in attack for this game; they have scored three times in three of the last four league matches. They are also unbeaten in their three away league games, winning two.
