Cardiff City beat relegation candidates Birmingham City on Saturday but they had a few nervous moments in the second half. Leading 3-0 at half-time, they were pegged back to 3-2 but hung on for another important win. They stay in second place in the Championship but with Wolves losing 4-1 at Aston Villa, they are now only three points behind the league leaders and remain four clear of third placed Villa. The win over Birmingham was their sixth straight win and they are undefeated in ten league games since a loss at QPR on New Year's Day. Goals are flowing and they have found the back of the net in each of their last eight league matches. It has to be said though, five of their last six league games have been at home and now they face awkward trips to Brentford and Derby County and of their last ten league games, only four are at home. Away form has seen them unbeaten in their last four league matches but they have suffered five away league defeats this season. Brentford lost at improving Millwall at the weekend thanks to a first minute goal leaving them in 11th place and eight points adrift of the play-off places. Four of their last five league games have been away from home and now they have three important home games and if they are to get into the promotion battle, they will most likely need to win a couple of them. Home form is strong with just one defeat in their last 16 home league games but they have drawn eight out of 17 at home this season. Cardiff are the in-form side and they can get the win here,
