Brentford will play host to Burnley when Premier League action returns after the international break. A tough run in the opening eight matches has Brentford in 15th place while Burnley are 18th. Brentford have so far garnered seven points from a possible 24, which leaves them desperate for a win here. In their last two matches they've thrown away one-goal leads and will hope to do better here. Ahead of the international break, Brentford conceded twice in stoppage time to lose 2-1 to Manchester United. Earlier, they had drawn 1-1 with Nottingham Forest after allowing a 1-0 lead to slip through their fingers. The Bees’ biggest undoing so far in the season has been a porous backline. In their eight league games, they’ve conceded 12 goals though they scored 11 times in those matches. Both sides have scored in six of their last eight matches across all competitions.

Burnley, like Brentford, are also going through a rough patch. Their return to the Premier League hasn’t been great, winning just once in eight games. Vincent Kompany’s side scored first against Chelsea last time out but went on to lose 4-1. In that loss they failed to build on the 2-1 win over Luton Town, leaving the team on four points. The visitors have a chance to rise out of the relegation zone here. However, they will be concerned that their only clean sheets in the last 10 matches came in the League Cup. Those were against Nottingham Forest and Salford City. Their scoring form is good coming into this game and they’ll hope to carry it here. In their last 10 matches in all competitions, Burnley have failed to score in just two. The win over Luton came in their last away outing, extending a rather good away run for the visitors. They’ve posted three wins in their last five away matches and only lost once.
