Brazil vs Venezuela Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Joseph King in World Cup Predictions
The CONMEBOL qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup enter matchday three of 18 with leaders Brazil hosting fifth-place Venezuela. Brazil are off to yet another fast start as they look to continue their remarkable run in World Cup qualifying. The Seleção Canarinha have never lost at this stage on home soil, winning their last 15 straight. They also carry a mammoth 36 game World Cup qualifying unbeaten run into this matchup and look sure to extend it to 37 on Thursday. Brazil kicked off the campaign with a dominant 5-1 home win over Bolivia. They followed that up with a 1-0 away victory over Peru, netting the winner in the 90th minute. Fernando Diniz’s men are likely to lineup in the same 4-2-3-1 formation with essentially four forwards on the pitch as Neymar takes the #10 position. Brazil have now created 11 clear cut scoring chances in their two qualifying matches under Diniz running this formation.
Venezuela will have the goal of qualifying for their first ever World Cup as they remain the only CONMEBOL member to never have reached the final stage. They’ll have arguably their best ever chance this time around thanks to the extended format of the 2026 edition. Six teams out of the 10 will automatically qualify for the tournament while seventh will enter into an inter-continental playoff to determine their fate. Venezuela finished rock-bottom of the table for Qatar 2022, managing only 10 total points over the 18 matches. They’re off to a much better start here though, as they’ve already gotten their first win on the board. Venezuela started things off with a 1-0 away defeat to rivals Colombia. They would then be awarded a 90th minute penalty to grab all three points in a 1-0 home win over Paraguay five days later. Overall, La Vinotinto are on an encouraging run of five wins, one draw and only one defeat in their last seven fixtures.
