Brazil are third in the South American World Cup qualifying group and five points behind leaders Ecuador. They can jump up to second place with a win over Uruguay who currently occupy that lofty position. The Brazilians campaign got off to a bad start when they lost their opening qualifier away at Chile, they got back on track with a 3-1 home win over Venezuela (who have lost all of their four qualifiers so far) and then had to come from behind to get a draw at Argentina. Brazil got back on the winning trail with a 3-0 win over Peru. After this game they play Paraguay who are currently fourth in the group so this week is really vital for Brazil and two wins can really have them on their way to Russia. Uruguay have nine points from their four games so far with just two goals conceded. They kicked their campaign off with a 2-0 win in Bolivia and a 3-0 home win over Colombia. They then lost their unbeaten record losing away to Ecuador before a 3-0 home win over Chile. Brazil haven't lost at home to Uruguay since 1992 and their home form is strong. Uruguay have already lost one game away to Ecuador so I can see the Brazilians getting an important home victory here.
