Brazil vs Spain Prediction & Betting Tips - Men's Olympic Tournament
by Daniel Ngulu | in Men's Olympic Tournament Predictions
The football final at the Tokyo 2020 Games will have defending champions Brazil taking on Spain as the two nations go in search of their second Olympic Games gold medal. Brazil are taking part in their fifth final and look to become the fifth team to win back to back gold after Great Britain, Hungary, Uruguay and Argentina. They have been one of the strongest nations in this competition and a good balance in the team has played the part in seeing them get to the finals. Brazil have undoubtedly the highest quality in the playing unit and getting to the final wasn’t a surprise even though they needed a win on penalties against Mexico to get here. Their 0-0 draw with Mexico in the semi finals was the second time at this competition that Brazil failed to score but they have eight goals and three clean sheets in their five matches. They have conceded three goals and only two of their matches have produced over 2.5 goals.
Spain are also seeking their second Olympic Games gold medal, having first won it in 1992. This will be their fourth appearance at the final and will hope it ends well. They also have a good mix of players at the team and will hope to finish matters earlier after having to go to extra time before seeing off Japan in the semis. Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio scored the only goal of the game in the semis in the 115th minute to see Spain secure a place in the final. A majority of the Spain team has played for the senior national team and will not be fazed by the quality in the Brazil team. Just like Brazil, Spain scored eight goals in the five matches ahead of this, though five of them came in the quarter final win over Ivory Coast. They also have three clean sheets, like Brazil and have similarly conceded three goals. Spain have failed to score in one of their five matches and only one of their matches has produced over 2.5 goals – the 5-2 win over Ivory Coast.
