Brazil vs Colombia Prediction & Betting Tips - Copa America
by Daniel Ngulu | in Football Predictions
Copa America hosts Brazil will be looking to continue with their domination of Group B when they play Colombia. The two are separated by two points, Brazil topping the group on six points, despite playing a game lesser, while Colombia are second on four points. The tournament hosts are coming from their ninth straight win, after beating Peru 4-0 in their second group game. That result came with their sixth straight clean sheet, and eighth in nine; the only goals they’ve conceded in that run were against Peru in a 4-2 win. A rich attack line for Brazil highlighted by Neymar and Richarlison has scored seven goals in just two matches at Copa America. Neymar has particularly been key for the team, scoring in each of the last four matches, and he is inspired now by breaking Pele’s record after getting his 68th goal for Brazil in the win over Peru. The team has 13 goals in the last five matches alone and will be outright favorites against Colombia; they have led in both halves of their last three matches, and only trailed twice in their last 10 matches, a marker of the dominance they’ve had in their recent matches.
Colombia are coming off a surprise defeat by Peru in their last game. Facing the then bottom placed side in this group, Colombia were tipped to win the game but were pressed hard and forced to deal with very uncomfortable situations in the game. In the end, a Yerry Mina own goal after failing to satisfactorily deal with a corner saw Colombia suffer a first loss at this competition. That result was a major highlight of the uneasy run Colombia have had lately, and not even the presence of Duvan Zapata and Luis Muriel who had great seasons with Atalanta has inspired them. The two scored 37 Serie A goals last season but haven’t been able to carry this run back home and Colombia have managed just one win in the last four matches. In the last five matches, Muriel has one goal and it came from the penalty spot while Zapata last scored in October 2020, and has no goal in the last eight matches. Missing James Rodriguez who is injured hasn’t helped either. While Colombia have failed to score in one of the four matches, they’ve been slow starters, leading at the break in only one of those and have trailed at half time in five of the last 10 matches.

Our Brazil vs Colombia Prediction
Colombia have struggled in their recent matches and meet a Brazil side in fine form, inspired by Neymar, who has led his fellow senior players well in doing the business for the team. Meanwhile, Colombia’s key men have been poor in the run up to this game and will struggle against Brazil who have managed to win with a higher degree of ease. Brazil have been fast starters in their matches, but the same can’t be said of Colombia so we will back Brazil to win both halves here.
