The 2020 Brasileirao continues with midweek fixtures including Red Bull Bragantino against Botafogo at Estadio Nabi Abi Chedid. Although it is the second gameweek, Botafogo are yet to play league football this season as their opening game against Bahia was postponed. Bragantino kicked off with a tough trip to Santos and came away with a point thanks to a last-minute equaliser that made the score 1-1. It wasn't the ideal start for Bragantino but confidence will remain high after a good showing at the state championship which saw them win four of their five matches. Bragantino rarely have much luck against Botafogo and have only won one of their last five matches against them. Botafogo won two of those five matches. Hopes are high for Bragantino this season despite the fact that they have only been promoted to the top flight this season. With the backing of Red Bull, it is hoped that they can go on to reach greater heights than they have before. Beating Botafogo would go some way to telling their true quality. 

Botafogo have one of the richest histories of any club in Brazilian football with legends like Garrincha wearing their colours. The 21st century has been less successful for them than the 20th was and they have spent the last few years scrapping near the bottom of the top flight. They will be hoping to finish higher than last season's 15th-place effort and have signed veteran international stars like Keisuke Honda and Salomon Kalou in a bid to improve. Recent matches that they contested in the state championship were low-scoring and there have been fewer than three goals scored in their last eight Brasilerao games. Two of the five matches they have played with Bragantino featured fewer than two goals; yet the other three featured at least four. We anticipate another low-scoring match based on Botafogo's recent form. We suggest backing fewer than 2.5 goals to be scored in this match.
