Bournemouth begin their third season in the English Premier League with a home game against newly promoted Cardiff City. The Cherries have never been in serious relegation trouble in the past two seasons which, considering they have conceded 128 goals is a major achievement. 48 out of 76 games have had over 2.5 goals scored in them, so keep that in mind unless they somehow sort that leaky defence of theirs out. Last season saw them finish 12th in the table 11 points above the relegation zone. Home form was patchy with seven wins, five draws and seven defeats but they only lost one of their last four and that was to Manchester United. New signings have seen them spend a record £25m on midfielder Jefferson Lerma and £10.7m on defender Diego Rica, all a long way from the days a few years ago when they nearly went out of business.

Cardiff City make their return to the Premier League after finishing second in the Championship last season and will most likely face a long battle to avoid an immediate return. They haven't been spending a massive amount in the transfer market and those players they have signed have come from Championship sides. Last season Cardif lost seven away games and this looks an uphill battle from the start. Go for Bournemouth to get the three points in this match.
