With only two points separating the sides, Botafogo will look to get back to winning ways as they come up against Bragantino. The matchday 12 of the Brazilian Serie A at the Estádio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday will see the fourth-placed hosts, who have 20 points, take on the sixth-placed visitors, who are two points behind.

Botafogo are coming here on the back of a poor couple of games where they could only win a single point. A 1-1 draw with Athletico Paranaense, followed by a 2-1 loss to Criciuma, has seen the hosts fall four points behind leaders Flamengo. That isn’t too much of a gap at this stage, especially if Botafogo can recover their home form. They have won three of their five home league games this season, losing just once at this venue.

Bragantino has managed to stay in the top-six race, but their form has been inconsistent to the core. They have alternated wins and losses over the last six league games, including a 2-1 win over Vitoria in the last round. Interestingly, 2-1 was the score in each of their last four league matches, and it won’t be a massive surprise if there’s a repeat here.

Bragantino’s inconsistencies have been pulling them down on the road as well. They have won only one of their last five away league games, drawing and losing two games each. Despite such poor form, they have managed to score in four of those five away league games and should fancy getting on the score sheet on this trip.
