Borussia Dortmund have the chance to go top of the Bundesliga when they play host to Werder Bremen on Friday. These two occupy opposite ends of the standings, Dortmund fourth and Werder Bremen 14th. Werder Bremen come into this game hoping the rest during the international break plays to their favor. At the time of the break, they hadn’t won any of the previous three matches, losing two. Their biggest undoing has to be in defence; they’ve conceded in each of their last four matches. Werder Bremen have conceded three or more goals in three of the four matches. Four of their last five matches have had over 3.5 goals and they managed just one clean sheet in four league games. Werder Bremen have suffered losses in three of their last four matches in the Bundesliga. They’ve however scored in all their last five league matches, recovering from failing to score in the opening two games. This includes at least two goals in all their last five matches. In their last outing before the international week, Werder Bremen lost 3-2 at home to Hoffenheim. Their away form isn’t great either, with losses in six straight away league games.
