Union Berlin will seek to put a halt to their recent struggles when they travel to play Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. After six rounds of play in the Bundesliga, Dortmund are fourth while Union are 11th. Borussia Dortmund are one of three teams yet to be defeated this season. They have racked up 14 points thanks to four wins and two draws. Edin Terzic’s men have recorded two of their victories at home. Der BvB were held to a 0-0 draw at home by AC Milan in round two of the Champions League. Dortmund have been unable to replicate their domestic success on the continental scene. The result did however stretch their current unbeaten run to three matches. Before playing Milan, they had won two matches and last time out in the league, secured a 3-1 victory away to Hoffenheim. Dortmund have won four of the last five meetings with Union.

Union Berlin are going through one of the worst spells in the club’s history. A season that started with much excitement, has turned into a catastrophe. Urs Fischer’s men began the season with three successive victories and scored four goals in every single one of those games. But since their matchday two 4-1 success away to Darmstadt, Union have been woeful. The capital club has lost six matches on the trot with four of those coming in the Bundesliga. Last time out, Die Eisernen were overpowered 3-2 at home by Braga in the Champions League. It was the second time in this stretch that they had soaked in three goals.
