Borussia Dortmund start the weekend in third place in the Bundesliga but aren't yet sure of a place in the Champions League next season. The top four qualify and Dortmund are only three points clear of fith placed Bayer Leverkussen. Last week saw Dortmund suffer a 6-0 thrashing at leaders Bayern Munich and it could have been a lot worse as they were five down at half-time. They need to bounce back from that result especially as their game after this is away to second placed Schalke 04. Dortmund do have a good home record with seven wins and just three league defeats this season and are unbeaten in their last seven.

The visitors are eighth in the table and seven points adrift of the Europa League qualification places. Away form is the main reason they arent' higher in the Bundesliga with nine away league defeats this season. They have improved of late though winning their last three away league matches but all against sides in the bottom nine. Before this run of form, Stuttgart had earned just two points from 11 on the road. Stuttgart beat Dortmund 2-1 at home earlier in the season when their opponents were going through a rough patch. Go for Dortmund to get revenge with a home win here.
