Borussia Dortmund vs Mönchengladbach Prediction & Betting Tips - Bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund will start their 2020/21 Bundesliga campaign with a home game at the Signal Iduna Park against Borussia Monchengladbach. Both teams are coming from big wins in the German Cup, against much weaker opponents and things are set to get a little tougher here. Dortmund did not have a very good ending to the season in the previous campaign; they were whacked 4-0 at home by Hoffenheim though they had already secured second spot then. They will be keen to start strongly and with just seven losses in the league last season, they can afford to put their hopes high. In their last nine league matches as action resumed following the forced break, Dortmund went on a good run, winning six, but the three losses therein turned detrimental to their title campaign. The hosts should approach this clash a better side, as seen in their preseason friendly matches; they have three wins, a loss and a draw in the five matches played. Last season, Dortmund suffered three defeats at home, and all these came in the final five home matches at Signal Iduna. They had a 65% winning rate at home in the league, at some point going unbeaten in 13 home matches in the league. Dortmund have also won each of their last 11 matches against Monchengladbach and will be looking to extend that as they seek a winning start.

While Dortmund thrashed Duisburg 5-0 in the German Cup on Monday, Monchengladbach were 8-0 winners away to Oberneuland and with their poor run against the hosts, they will hope the huge win inspires them here. With four wins in five preseason matches, Monchengladbach will feel ready for this challenge and having finished the previous campaign with three straight wins should be a psychological boost. They have scored in 14 of their last 16 Bundesliga matches but with just four wins in their last 12 away league matches, they will need to do more for three points at Signal Iduna Park.
