Bordeaux only finished sixth in Ligue 1 last year but that was enough to see them qualify for the Europa League. They've had to play two qualifying rounds to get to the group stages and only beat Kairat on away goals in the play-off round. They've made a slow start to the season and are 12th in the table with six points from five games. They lost their opening league game but since then have drawn three and won one. In their last game they drew 2-2 at top of the table PSG twice coming from behind. They have won one and lost one at home this season but only lost two home league games in Ligue 1 last season.   Their opponents, Liverpool, are also having a tough start to their season in the Premier League. It started well enough with wins over Stoke and Bournemouth and a draw at Arsenal. Since then though they have lost 3-0 at home to West Ham and lost 3-1 at Manchester United on Saturday. The club has spent a fair amount of money during the summer signing players such as Benteke (two goals already this season), Firmino and Ings. The pressure will mount on their manager if the results don't improve and a defeat here wouldn't please their American owners and an away draw would be ok.
