Bolton - Portsmouth: Form Analysis
It is fair to say that both these teams come into this game in excellent form. Bolton have lost just four of their last 22 games and just one of their last eight in League One. They have rattled in 17 goals in their last five home hames, winning four and drawing the other. They have lost just three home games all season long, the last defeat coming in mid-December against Bristol Rovers.
Portsmouth are also in superb form as you would expect from the League One leaders and likely Champions this season. With just two defeats on the road all season long, they have proven very difficult to beat on the road, where they conceded just 13 goals, as astonishingly low total from their 21 games. Their last road defeat came on the 6th January away to Cheltenham Town and since then they have won five and drawn three of their eight games on the road. In 2024, they have drawn 2-2 with promotion chasing Derby and Oxford, as well as beating Oxford 2-1 at home and also defeating Peterborough United 1-0 on the road.

Bolton & Portsmouth Squad Analysis
Bolton will still be without their main striker Dion Charles for this game as he continues his recovery from a knee injury. George Johnston the center back is also out, likely for the rest of the season after missing all of this season after knee surgery back in the summer or 2023. Cameron Jerome is fit however but he is one of three players who risk a suspension with another yellow card in this game, the others being Gethin Jones and Josh Dacres-Cogley, both fullbacks. Nathan Collins has been the man in form for Wanderers in recent games, netting four goals in his last two home matches for Ian Evatt's team.
Pompey are likely to be without a quartet of players for the trip to Bolton. Josh Dockerill and Regan Poole, both center backs, are absent as they continue their recoveries from cruciate ligament injuries, while there is no set return date for midfielder Lee Evans who also has a knee problem. It's a better prognosis for Alex Robertson though with the attacking midfielder slated for a return to action in early May, perhaps for the final game of the season. Portsmouth also have three players a yellow card away from suspension, strikers Colby Bishop and Christian Saydee and center back Conor Shaughnessy.
