Sixth placed Bologna continue their dream of making it into Europe next season. They host Lecce who are 13th in Serie A and yet to win an away league game. Bologna are currently in the Europa Conference League qualifying position. They are only a couple of points behind the Europa League place and only three behind the final Champions League spot. They owe their high position to their excellent home form. Eight of their 11 home league games this season have been won with only seven goals conceded. Their most recent game saw them defeat Sassuolo 4-2 at home. The only team that has beaten them on home soil in Serie A this season are MIlan and that was back in September. It's their only loss in their last 18 home league fixtures.

Lecce drew the reverse fixture against Bologna that was played last December. It was so nearly a loss as they had to rely on a 100th minute goal to rescue a point. They are only six points above the relegation zone and their away form is a big reason why they are struggling. Only five points have been earned from their 11 away league games this season. Just nine goals have been scored and their last four away fixtures have all been lost. Their last game saw them score two very late goals to beat out-of-form Fiorentina 3-2 at home.
