Bolivia vs Panama Prediction & Betting Tips - Copa America
by Ian John in Copa America Predictions
Panama face Bolivia in their final fixture in Group C of the Copa America 2024, with qualification still available, in theory at least, for all four of the teams in the group. That should certainly ensure fans of some hectic and exciting action in the two final games of this group. Panama lost their opening fixture 3-1 to Uruguay, although the game was considerably closer than the score suggests. However, they took full advantage of playing against the United States, winning 2-1 against the hosts to give themselves a huge chance of qualifying for the quarterfinals. In contrast, Bolivia’s form in the tournament has been awful.
However, mitigating circumstances regarding the military coup back home may play a significant part in that. Bolivia lost 2-0 to the United States in their opener and were then thrashed 5-0 by Uruguay in their second game. Yet strangely, both teams can still go through to the quarterfinals, albeit Bolivia need a very unlikely set of results to go their way to do so. For Panama, the task is simpler, better the United States result against Uruguay and they will progress. It is all set up for an enthralling Group C encounter in Orlando! Especially with a potential quarterfinal against Brazil or Colombia most likely lying in wait.

Bolivia - Panama: Form Analysis
Heading into 2024, Panama had lost just one of their previous 12 fixtures. However, this year, they have won three and lost four of their games, including their 3-1 loss to Uruguay and 2-1 win over the United States at the Copa America 2024.
Prior to the tournament, they had also been beaten 1-0 in a home friendly against Paraguay. As such, they were very much expected to be battling with Bolivia to avoid being bottom of the group, while the United States and Uruguay were expected to qualify.
That is why that win over the United States is so crucial. It now means that the United States must at least match or better Panama’s result and that is going to be tough against an in-form Uruguay team. Whereas Panama face a much easier task against Bolivia.
Confidence should be high in the Panama camp after the win over the United States, whereas the opposite will be true for Bolivia.
Bolivia’s two defeats at the Copa America are not a surprise. They have lost 12 of their last 14 games, only beating Peru and Andorra in that run. They have scored just one goal in the last five and conceded 14 goals across those games.
They were expected to struggle in this group and that has certainly been the case. However, if they can land a very big win in this game, and Uruguay do likewise against the United States, Bolivia could still qualify for the quarterfinals.
In truth, that looks very unlikely though as this is a team devoid of form and confidence, who have lost every game that they have played in the United States over the past month. So much so that Bolivia winning this game would be a bigger surprise than the U.S. beating Uruguay.

Bolivia & Panama Squad Analysis
Bolivia don’t have any injury concerns heading into the game, but their lack of form means that manager Antonio Carlos Zago may be considering ringing the changes for this final group game.
Their best player, Miguel Terceros, has not been able to lift the team but will certainly likely start. The youngster is one of the future prospects for this Bolivian team along with Jaume Cuellar.
However, it is hard to guess what Zago’s team will be for this game given how they have struggled in recent times with the manager potentially likely to make a number of changes to give his squad a run out at the tournament.
Panama’s manager Thomas Christiansen’s biggest dilemma may be who to start in attack. Jose Fajardo started the first game but didn’t impress in the 3-1 loss to Uruguay. Eduardo Guerrero started the second, but was substituted for Fajardo who scored the winning goal against the United States.
However, Jose Luis Rodriguez, who missed the U.S. game through injury could be back and could return on the wing, with Ismael Diaz potentially starting opposite him on the left flank.
They will be without Adalberto Carrasquilla with the midfielder sent off late on in the game with the United States. Anchoring defender Jose Cordoba has been one of their better performers in the tournament so far.

Our Bolivia vs Panama Prediction
Our prediction for the Bolivia v Panama Copa America Group C contest is: - Panama to win to nil.
The data for this game points in one direction only. Panama were beaten by Uruguay in their opener, but produced a superb performance to beat the USA in their second game.
Bolivia have been well beaten in both matches so far against USA and Uruguay, failing to score and conceding seven goals.
Add into that the fact Panama have to better USA's result against Uruguay, and if both win Panama have to overturn a goal difference of -2 to the tournament hosts. So Panama will know any win may not be enough.
But with Bolivia looking toothless in attack, our main prediction is a confident Panama win without Bolivia scoring a goal.
Bolivia vs Panama - Other Interesting Predictions
Yoel Barcenas (Panama) to score at any time.
Panama manager Thomas Christiansen has gone with two different starting strikers in their two previous Copa America games. Jose Fajardo started the opening defeat to Uruguay, while Eduardo Guerrero started against the United States, only to be withdrawn and Fajardo came on to replace him and score the winner.
The starting lineup for this crucial final game for Panama is still up for debate. However, one thing is certain-attacking midfielder Yoel Barcenas, the top-scoring midfielder with nine goals, will be on the field, ready to make a difference.
With Bolivia conceding plenty of goals in this tournament, our second prediction is for Barcenas to score a goal at any time in the game.
Correct Score - First Half - Bolivia 0-1 Panama
What has been notable in many Copa America games, particularly in Group C, is that goals have tended to come in the second half of games.
Panama will be keen to ensure that they keep tight defensively in this game and Bolivia's attacking issues show that they are unlikely to find the net in the opening 45 minutes of the game.
However, Panama will know that going in at half-time in front will put added pressure on the United States in their game with Uruguay, so expect Panama to be looking for that breakthrough goal in the first half.
Data suggests they should get it, too, which means our third prediction is for a correct score at halftime of Bolivia 0-1 Panama.
Bolivia vs Panama match : Frequently asked questions
With a goal difference of -7 from their first two games, Bolivia's chances of qualifying for the quarterfinals are slim.
They must beat Panama by at least three goals, and also hope that Uruguay beat the United States by six goals in order to qualify.
Panama's chances of success are far greater and are interlinked with how the United States perform against Uruguay.
Panama needs to improve the United States result against Uruguay in order to qualify. So if the US draws, Panama needs to win. If the US loses, Panama needs to draw or win to qualify.
However, if both teams achieve the same result, the United States will progress and Panama will be eliminated if both teams draw.
If both teams win, or both teams lose, then the scoreline by which each result is decided will determine who goes through. The United States have a +2 goal difference advantage over Panama and Panama would have to overturn that should both teams get the same result. For example, if the United States beat Uruguay 1-0, Panama would need to beat Bolivia by three goals or more to progress.
There is a scenario where the United States and Panama could go through, but it would require huge wins for both teams and both to overturn a goal difference disadvantage on Uruguay of 6 goals (US) and 8 goals (Panama).
Bolivia faces Panama in their third and final Group C game at the Copa America 2024 at the Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida. It is the home of MLS team Orlando City.

Their last game was a friendly played in Bolivia in August 2023, with a below-strength Panama winning that game 2-1.
