Bolivia vs Ecuador Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Joseph King in World Cup Predictions
The CONMEBOL 2026 World Cup qualifying sees 10th-place Bolivia hosting ninth-place Ecuador for the third of 18 matchdays. Bolivia haven't qualified for the World Cup since 1994 and have experienced a rough start to the new qualifying campaign. La Verde are searching for their first points of the campaign following losses to Brazil and Argentina in their first two matches. They find themselves in an early hole after losing 5-1 to Brazil in the opener and 3-0 at home to Argentina in their most recent appearance. They wouldn't have been expected to get anything from the first two matches against two of the top three ranked teams in the FIFA men’s rankings. Additionally, Bolivia are only one point behind seventh-place Peru. The expanded format of the World Cup means six teams automatically qualify from CONMEBOL and seventh-place advances to a playoff. Bolivia have now lost their last three in a row and have managed only one win in their last 13 fixtures.
Ecuador are also seeking their first points of the qualifying campaign despite already having a win on the board. La Tri have to cope with a three point deduction in 2026 World Cup qualifying after falsifying documents for a player in the previous World Cup qualifying campaign. They kicked things off with a 1-0 loss away to Argentina before getting back to even with a 2-1 home win over Uruguay in their most recent outing. Ecuador have a talented team at their disposal with the likes of Moises Caicedo, Enner Valencia and Pervis Estupiñan. They’ll have high hopes for this qualifying campaign despite the points deduction to kick things off. Ecuador will be expecting to get the three points here even though La Paz is a historically very difficult place to play. The visitors come into this matchup having won four of their last five overall after the team ripped off three straight friendly wins in the first half of 2023.

Our Bolivia vs Ecuador Prediction
Bolivia are usually much more competitive when playing in La Paz and should be up for this one. However, they aren’t playing great at the moment having lost 11 of their last 13 fixtures across all competitions. We still expect them to get on the scoresheet with their home field advantage but they will likely struggle to keep Ecuador off the board. The visitors have been consistently finding the net for a while now. That shouldn’t change much against a Bolivia side that has conceded 10 goals in their last three appearances. Our Bolivia vs Ecuador prediction is for over 2.5 goals.
