Former quarter finalists Bodo/Glimt begin their 2023-24 Europa Conference League campaign. They host Bohemians in this second qualifying round tie with the winners up against either Kalmar FF or Pyunik in the next round. Bodo/Glimt currently top the Norwegian Eliteserien by nine points after 16 games. They are unbeaten in their last six matches with five wins and a draw. The last four have all been won with 11 goals scored, including five in their most recent match at Sandefjord after trailing 2-1. Bodo/Glimt have only lost one league game and are yet to taste defeat at home with six wins and a couple of draws. They have had an eventful time in European competitions mainly due to their home form. The last eight of this competition was reached by 'The Yellow Horde' in the 2021-22 season and last year they played in all three European tournaments. They made it to the play-off round in the Champions League, then finished third behind Arsenal and PSV in their Europa League. Back in the Conference League, 'Lightning' were beaten in the knockout play-off round. Only two of their last 17 home games in European competition have been lost. Bohemians Prague aren't quite on the same level as Arsenal and PSV.

It was in the 1987-88 season that Bohemians last played in Europe. On that occasion they lost in the first round of the UEFA Cup, now the Europa League. Bohemians had been semi-finalists in the UEFA Cup in the 1982-83 season. They finished fourth in the Czech 1 Liga last season, their highest finish since 2013. It's a big deal for them to be back in European football after financial problems saw them drop down to the third division for a while. They've only just started their domestic season and began with a 1-0 win at Pardubice. That's an improvement on a poor away run at the end of last season when five games in a row were lost with 17 goals conceded.
