A gargantuan fixture in the Copa Libertadores pits Argentine giants Boca Juniors against Brazilian powerhouse Santos. This semi-final contest's first leg sees Santos travelling to take on a Boca side unbeaten in their last six home matches in all competitions. It is not an ideal time for Santos - who last won the Libertadores in 2011 - to make the trip. Vila Belmiro's side failed to win six of their last seven games in all competitions, the only victory being a 4-1 thumping of Gremio in the previous Libertadores round. However, we must consider the fact that the beating of Gremio took place on home soil. On the road, Santos are winless in seven of their last eight matches in all competitions. This poor form is mainly due to their domestic troubles. For when Santos take to the pitch for a Libertadores tie, their quality goes up exponentially. They are unbeaten in their previous five away ties in the Libertadores, winning four times. 

Boca, five-times winners of the competition, last won the Libertadores in 2007. In the wake of club legend Diego Maradona's passing, the lifting of another Libertadores title would be glorious and sentimental. When Boca start any two-legged tie at home, they have a hell of a chance. Unbeaten in 16 home matches in the Libertadores, Boca have beaten several Brazilian clubs over that run. Still captained by Carlos Tevez (now 36), Boca have more experience in their line-up than a Santos side fronted by prodigious 18-year-old Kaio Jorge. Back Boca to win this leg.
