The final match of gameweek six in the Primeira Liga will come from Estadio do Bessa Seculo XXI, where Boavista will be playing host to Benfica. Os Axadrezados are in 13th place in the league standings, while As Aguias are sixth. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

It has been another tough start to the season for Boavista, who are set to enter this week’s match winless in their last four league matches, with the most recent ending in a 2-2 draw against relegation candidates Estrela.

Ahead of that, Os Axadrezados played out a goalless draw with Estoril and were beaten 1-0 by both Braga and Famalicao following an opening-week victory over Casa Pia. 

The one major positive for the hosts to this point, though, is that they have been decent defensively, conceding just four goals in their five games, which is the third-fewest of any side in the division.

Meanwhile, after a shock 2-0 loss to Famalicao in gameweek one, combined with a 1-1 draw to Moreirense three weeks later, Benfica will know the importance of winning this match, or they could find themselves falling eight points behind Sporting this early in the season.

Fortunately for the Eagles, they returned from the international break looking sharp and claimed a commanding 4-1 win over Santa Clara before kicking off their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory against Red Star Belgrade. 

That win in midweek was the first one that Benfica have delivered in their last five away games in all competitions, though, and they did lose at this venue 3-2 when they visited in the league last season.
