Blackpool host Wrexham in a vital League One clash that has implications for both automatic promotion and the playoffs. The Tangerines recent good form has come a little too late to force them into playoff contention, but Red Dragons are battling hard to avoid the playoffs and land the second of the two automatic promotion slots. Here’s our prediction for this important match!

Six wins in their last eight has propelled Steve Bruce’s Blackpool up the table into tenth with 63 points from 42 games. They are six points outside the playoffs, but do have one game in hand on the teams above them. Wrexham have 83 points from their 43 matches but three draws in the last four mean they have dropped from second to third, a point behind Wycombe with just three games to in the league.

Blackpool had won three games in a row until they went down 2-1 away to Rotherham United back at the start of April. However, on Good Friday they produced a fine away display to beat Stevenage 3-1 and keep alive their playoff hopes.

Wrexham have lost just one of their last 12 games and none of their last seven, but draws have cost them in recent games. They drew 0-0 away to Wigan Athletic and could only follow that up with a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Bristol Rovers, which saw them drop out of the top two on Good Friday.
